Peter Burghardt
Peter is a 13 year old from New Berlin. In February he was suddenly hospitalized in Albany and transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC where he was diagnosed with Wilson's Disease and acute liver failure. He received a liver transplant in March.  He was able to return home just before Easter. He completed his school year via computer robot at Unadilla Valley.  He is now back full time at UV in 8th grade with his friends and twin sister Teresa.  He also has a 7 year old sister, Kathryn who was also diagnosed with Wilson's Disease.  She is undergoing medical treatment and will hopefully not require a transplant.
